The measurement of the degree of adhesion of a coating represents one of the very important factors to guarantee the durability and resistance of the coating, whether protective or embellishment. Furthermore, in the case of coatings with an insulation or protection function, it is mandatory to carry out the adhesion test to guarantee effective protection against corrosion. For an optimal result, the coatings must adhere to the substrates on which they are applied.
There are three different methods to evaluate the resistance of a paint to the substrate where it has been applied:
The ARW-T05A Automatic Pull-off Tester is a digital instrument used to measure the degree of adhesion of a coating using the pull-off method. The method consists of detecting the force required to extract a specified test diameter of the coating from its substrate using hydraulic pressure. The pressure is displayed on a digital LCD and represents the adhesion strength of the coating to the substrate.
The ARW-T05A Automatic Pull off Adhesion Tester complies with ASTM D 4541, ASTM D 7234, EN 13144, ISO 4624, ISO 16276 etc.
